First Sunday - Estuary Tour - Enjoy the peaceful beauty of one of the Mendocino Coast's tidal estuaries. This is a natural history tour that includes wildlife watching and natural history interpretation as well as paddling tips. Click here for more information.
Second Sunday - Coastal Exploration Tour - Sea kayak and explore a stretch of the Mendocino Coast. Each month, we paddle a different stretch exploring the coastline and admiring the beauty and wildlife from the water. Click here for more information.
Third Sunday - Rock Garden Exploration and Play - Challenge your sea kayak skills to play and explore as we paddle more technical areas of the Mendocino Coast including surf zones and rock gardens. Click here for more information.
Paddlers may bring their own sea kayak, recreational kayak, or canoe (or rent one from us for $20) and join us for wildlife watching and natural history interpretation. Paddling tips specific to estuaries and wildlife watching will be shared as we paddle.
Previous paddling experience is required as this is not a learn to paddle tour. Paddlers should have the equivalent of BCU 1 Star Skills and be comfortable paddling their craft for 3-4 hours.

This paddle is perfect for those who have had some sea kayak experience and are looking to sea kayak and experience the rugged beauty of Mendocino's coastline. Conditions permitting, we will paddle into sea caves, rock gardens, and secluded coves. We will also paddle off shore and see the beauty of our coastal headlands from the ocean. Tips for wildlife watching and coastal paddling will be shared as we paddle.
Paddlers are expected to have a minimum of 10 hours experience paddling a decked sea kayak, the equivalent of BCU 2 Star Skills, and be comfortable paddling 4-6 miles over 3-4 hours.
Paddlers may use their own sea kayak or rent one from us. Sea kayaks must be sea worthy with adequate flotation and properly fitting spray decks. Immersion wear (wetsuit/drysuit) is required for 50 degree water. Please contact us with any equipment questions.
Second Sunday Paddles are $40/person ($60/person if renting a kayak). Reservations are required. Please call (707) 962-1623 for reservations.
This paddle is for seasoned sea kayakers who have solid rough water paddling skills and want to paddle and play in the surf zones and rock gardens of the Mendocino Coast. We will be guiding paddlers to play spots and sharing tips for surfing waves, reading the water, running pour-overs, and paddling technical water
Paddlers should have a reliable roll, be able to average a 3 knot pace, be comfortable launching and landing in 3-5 foot surf, and have the equivalent of BCU 3 Star Sea Skills.
Third Sunday Paddles are 4-5 hours and $40/person ($60/person if renting a kayak).

Who: Seasoned sea kayakers – individuals or groups- wanting a guided paddling adventure on the Mendocino Coast. Anyone who has paddled here before and wants to explore a new stretch or learn some rock gardening skills.
Prerequisite Skills: self rescue (eskimo roll recommended), open ocean experience, ability to paddle 6 hours per day.
What: Sea kayak coastal exploration tour guided by Liquid Fusion Kayaking. Day one is instructional and then each day we will paddle approximately 4-6 nautical miles with exploration and rock gardening along the way.
We are also likely to spend some time playing in whitewater kayaks in the rock gardens. If there is interest and water, we will add an additional day running a whitewater river.

Welcome to our playground! Experience a 3 hour playful exploration of the rock gardens of the Mendocino Coast. We'll show you some of our favorite spots and teach you the tricks of rock gardening - dart into sea caves, glide down waves, charge pour-overs, and carve through surge chanels - all the while marveling at the incredible beauty of the wild Mendocino Coast.

Why: This is a challenging, thrilling, and fun way to explore our rocky coastline in a sea or whitewater kayak.
Who: Beginner through advanced Whitewater River Kayakers or Sea Kayakers who want to explore the rock gardens and whitewater features of the ocean.
Prerequisites: Essential kayaking skills and essential safety and rescue, and experience paddling in rough water (sea, river, or surf) or equivalent skills as determined by LFK. A reliable eskimo roll is required to paddle a decked kayak.

What: 3 hour session with 1 hour of instruction and 2 hours of play w/guided instruction (we also offer full day classes in sea kayak rock gardening)
Paddlers will learn and apply concepts and skills involved in:
Kayak control and maneuvering
Reading moving water
Recognizing hazards
Recovery Techniques
Exploring coastal rock formations including surge channels and pour-overs and sea caves
Enthusiast (Level 2): Proficient maneuvering and bracing skills in moving water are necessary for this level. Self-rescue on the sit-on-top or reliable eskimo roll in a whitewater kayak or sea kayak is required.
Performance (Level 3): Experienced paddlers will challenge their water reading and maneuvering skills at this level. A reliable eskimo roll is required for all types of kayaks at this level.
