Below are predictions for this coming weekend
Wind: West @ 8 knots
Air: 69/58 Patchy fog
Water: 70’
Waves: July 13-15, 2007 nw 5’ at 6 seconds and SSE 3’ at 16 seconds
At this point, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing any SW swell until around the 19th. This though is based on long-range models (and a hopeful disposition), so we'll need to see how this works out over the next few days. We'll keep you posted. This report thanks to WetSand.com
Tenative Plan:
a. Day one: “Set up and Surfâ€:
1. Paddle out: launching, hovering, timing, etiquette, punch through, edge sweep pop, turtle dive, know the surf zone
2. bracing and rolling: sand/shallow water rolling, offensive bracing, controlled posture, injury prevention, pause roll
3. surf zone etiquette: who has the right of way; catching a wave, paddling out, strategies to be welcomed to surf with others,
4. Self rescue and assisted rescues in and around the surf
b. Day Two: Point and Reef Breaks
1. Wave selection:
2. Jockey for position
3. Take off strategies:
4. Separation and connection of the body, boat, blade, and the wave.
c. Day Three: Surf Experience and discovery
This day will be filled with personal exploration and fun enhancement.
Jeff Laxier will be giving personal and group feedback. The main focus will be you!
Each day we will meet for an early morning session and another session at the next best time depending on the day and tides.
