Free Surf Kayak Lesson(FULL)

This is a FREE surfing class put on by a great whitewater, surf and sea kayaking instructor, Jeff Laxier of Liquid Fusion Kayak Co. He’s a wonderful teacher and is doing this intro class for those interesting in more advanced kayak surfing, rock gardening and whitewater kayaking. He’s got spots on an upcoming rock gardening (a fun type of ocean kayaking) in Mexico in June, and this session is a great tune up and intro to that.

It is geared for those brand new to kayak surfing and you can rent a sit-on-top for the class right there at La Jolla Shores. (You can also bring a whitewater kayak if you have one.)

You’ll learn about wave selection, take-offs, steering, surf etiquette etc.

The class is FREE, the kayak rental is about $28 and you may want a shortie wetsuit (rentals are about $10.)

You need to be able to swim and interested in kayaking in the surf. (There are other classes for kayak touring, this is more gear to surfing, whitewater and rock gardening.)
