The Northcoast of California boast some of the nations best river running all within easy driving distance. Exploring these rivers by Kayak will lead you into some of the most pristine preserved wilderness in the world.
This weekend workshop will teach you the fundamentals of river running and how to plan and conduct your own trips on Class I-II+ whitewater.
Skills covered will include:
Essential strokes for whitewater.
River HydrologyÂ
Eddy Breaking in and out
Cross river ferries
River reading
Scouting from the shore and kayak.
Positive self rescue.Â
 Both Jeff and Hawk are certified instructors with the ACA and BCU as well as being trained and certified for Swiftwater Rescue. They have decades of experience between them and are the best at what they do.
Cost: $195 ($220 if you need a kayak)
No experience is necessary as this is an intro class. An eskimo roll or the beginnings of one are encouraged but not necessary.
